Every time August rolls by, DIRECTV highlights the upcoming NFL season. Of course, they held the rights to the NFL Sunday Ticket for years, so it’s in their DNA. Now that the Ticket is in the hands of YoutubeTV, DIRECTV is giving as many customers as possible access to all the other popular NFL channels: NFL Network, NFL RedZone, Fox, CBS and more. This year, it’s DIRECTV Stream that’s getting a big discount.
The Offer: Get DIRECTV Stream for $49.99/mo (up to $39 off) for three months
The Good: DIRECTV Stream has never been cheaper. This is an promo that coincides with the start of the NFL season (Sept 5, 2024). Their 5-day free trial is also still in play. No contracts whatsoever.
The Bad: Not much downside here. If you were considering DTV Stream, no better time than now. After the three promotional months, you’ll revert to the regular rates. At that point, your call if the extra cost is worth it. If not, you got half the NFL season at a great rate.

Note that the Entertainment plan is the only one that doesn’t include Regional Sports Networks (RSNs). In some regions, RSNs broadcast preseason NFL games. None broadcast regular season games.

NFL Network – one of the best NFL channels period. Top shelf NFL highlights, news and analysis. Great for fantasy football fans too. Available in Choice, Ultimate and Premier (not Entertainment)
CBS, Fox – of course, the top 3 local channels broadcast a handful of different NFL games every weekend. Local channels are included in all the DIRECTV Stream plans.
NBC – Sunday Night Football (SNF). NBC exclusively broadcasts one game in primetime every Sunday night. Included in all plans.
ABC/ESPN – Monday Night Football (MNF). One or two games every Monday night. Included in all plans.
NFL Redzone from NFL Network – with DIRECTV Stream, you can only get NFL RedZone with the Sports Pack add-on. It’s often a free addition to the mid/higher-tier plans. When will it expire?
DIRECTV tends to keep NFL specials open until at least a few weeks into the regular season (late September, early October). Of course, they were always more liberal with specials when they had the Ticket. Our guess is this one will stick around until the first week of Oct. Unlike with other home services, streaming TV deals don’t usually get better near their expiration so don’t expect to snag more value by waiting it out.
