If you dig Denver-area sports (Nuggets, Avalanche, Colorado Mammoth and Colorado Rapids), the Altitude Sports channel is your one-stop source for live events, news and exclusive access. Created by Stan Kroenke, the owner of the four teams, it's quickly become one of the more popular regional sports channels going. Recently, Altitude also added coverage of the University of Denver and various games from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Of course, Denver is also hockey/snow country, so in addition to the Avalanche, you'll get plenty of minor league hockey, skiing, extreme snow events and other ice/snow sports coverage. Across all the local teams, the channel's biggest upside is its exclusive and unfettered access to the teams and players. From in-depth interviews to detailed biographies of key players, it's been an instant hit with Denver sports fans...and a fun peek into Denver athletics for sports fans from around the country.
Altitude is also starting to delve into the reality/news-type programming. For example, Colorado's First Responders puts you square in the front row of all the Colorado police, paramedic and fire department calls. It's basically the Cops show with a local Denver feel. Golf @ Attitude is a fun show where they explore the the pros and cons of golf nearly a mile above sea level...and the resultant moon shots off the tee. Finally, keep in mind the MLB Colorado Rockies are NOT shown on Altitude. As with the majority of MLB teams, they're contracted with the local Fox Sports affiliate; in this case, FS Rocky Mountain
