CBS Sports Network

Founded: June, 2002
Parent Company: CBS Corporation
Tagline: "The 24-Hour Home of CBS Sports"

Originally launched as the College Sports TV Network (CSTV), CBS acquired it in the late 2000s and relaunched it as CBS College Sports Network. Its big picture was to transition to an extension of its national sports coverage and in February 2011, CBS Sports Network was born. Though it still features plenty of college action, its primary niche is in the non big 4 sports, namely PGA, Arena football, Rugby Lacrosse, Trans-Am, Rodeo, etc.

With regard to college football coverage, their broadcast-licensed conferences include Conference USA, Mountain West, American Athletic and Mid-American Conferences. They also have contracts to cover Army, Navy, the Cure Bowl and Arizona Bowl. So, on any given Fall Saturday, expect plenty of football action from the conferences above. Throughout the rest of the year, you'll also get plenty of college basketball (AAC, Atlantic 10, Big East, etc), hockey and lacrosse. In case you were wondering, you won't catch any big time March Madness games on this channel but they do have the rights to the NCAA Division II tourney (semi-final round only).
