How to watch Hallmark without cable in 2024
Who doesn't enjoy getting a touching Hallmark card? The Hallmark channel is a TV extension of those fuzzy feelings - family movies with a moral. So, how can you get it? Fortunately Hallmark is pretty widely available. We most often recommend it via three different ways: Philo, Fubo and Sling TV. They all offer free trials so you can try things risk-free. Visit Philo
- Channels: 70
- Best price: $28
- Year discounts
We don't usually choose super skinny providers like Philo as our top recommendation but it's been a great fit for a lot of folks looking for just Hallmark. Philo has only one plan so it's relatively easy to decide if it's right for you. That package features 70 channels for $28/mo. Pretty good value overall.
Other family-friendly channels in Philo's lineup include: Discovery family, Game Show Network, Nick Jr, nickelodeon, nickToons TeenNick and more. Most Hallmark fans will dig at least a couple of those networks.
Features
- Cheapest way to stream Hallmark
- DVR saves for up to 1 year
- Watch on up to 3 devices at a time
Cons
- No locals or regional sports
Philo isn't a full-featured provider and, as such, not going to have enough channels for some. Toss in the lack of local channels and regional sports and a lot of folks leaving cable will want more options. However, if you already have a larger streaming provider or just really want to scale down, Philo's a great option.
Overall, Philo's skinny bundle service gets high marks for value, tech and usability. Hallmark is one of their more popular channels that nicely complement their other family-friendly programming.
Hallmark on Fubo
- Channels: 259
- Best price: $32.99
- 7-day free trial
Especially compared to Philo, Fubo is a more complete streaming provider. With over 194 channels for $59.99/mo, it provides a full lineup across all categories (news, lifestyle, entertainment, family and sports). Sports is a big plus with Fubo, particularly soccer (that's where the name, Fubo, originates).
With respect to Hallmark, it's found in all of Fubo's plans. In fact, three Hallmark channels are included: Hallmark, Hallmark Drama and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. Fubo has a bunch of similar channels as well: Bravo, Great American Family, NatGeo, E!, FX, Paramount and more. Of all the streaming services on this page, Fubo has the most family/entertainment type programming.
Features
- Plenty of similar channels
- Best for sports fans
- Unlimited DVR storage
- Watch on up to 10 screens
Cons
- Quite a bit pricier than Philo
Overall, Fubo has grown quite a bit over the last handful of years. They offer a solid mix of sports, entertainment and local channels. Hallmark has been a core part of their plans for years now. If cost is no object and/or you're a big sports fan, Fubo is probably the better bet.
As far as free trials go, Fubo offers a healthy 7-day trial. That's as long as any provider out there. It's an unrestricted period as well -- full access to the entire plan and DVR settings. You do need to provide a credit card but that's pretty standard nowadays.
Hallmark on Sling TV
- Channels: 46
- Best price: $20
- 7-day free trial
Sling is closer to Philo than it is Fubo. They have two main plans: Blue and Orange. Both have about 32 channels and go for $20/mo. They're split up based on themes and tastes. Sling has exclusive sports (three ESPN channels) and Disney. Blue has exclusive news (MSNBC, HLN, Fox News), NFL Network, USA and more. They share the majority of their respective channels.
For Hallmark, it's not included in the base plan of Blue or Orange. It's only available with the "LifeStye Extra" add-on pack (5 channels for $6/mo). The other channels in that pack include: Magnolia, VH1, Cooking, fyi, WE TV, LMN, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries and Hallmark Drama. A solid value and complement to either Sling or Blue.
Features
- Most flexibility
- Inexpensive option
- No contracts
- Impressive set of add-on packs
Cons
- Orange only allows one device stream
- Min/no local channels (only FOX & NBC)
Overall, Sling is the most flexible way to get Hallmark. Lifestyle Extra is the only way to get it on Sling and worth it in most cases. Your total cost for Lifestyle Extra and Blue or Orange comes to about $26/mo for the first month. You'll also have 7 days to try it out for free. Great way to kick the tires and see if there's enough channels for your needs. Canceling is quick and easy.
Streaming services with and without Hallmark
Being a popular channel, Hallmark is widely available across most major streaming providers. That goes for most of their sister channels as well (e.g., Hallmark Movies & Mysteries and Hallmark Drama). It's also usually part of entry (cheaper) plans. Skinny providers like Sling often add it to add-on packs to keep their smaller/base plans a bit more inexpensive.

Hallmark apps
Hallmark TV
Hallmark has two different apps available: Hallmark TV and Hallmark Movies Now. The former is their default app that lets you watch the vast majority of Hallmark programming. A subscription to a cable, satellite or streaming provider is required. Once you login, navigation is pretty standard. The main menu sections include: Browse, Live, Search and More. The "Browse" section showcases popular programs and also customizes your options based on viewing habits. "Live" is what's on air right now in your area.
They have iOS and Android versions -- both have been downloaded hundred of thousands of times and while they generally work, reviews hover in the 3/5 range (mostly for technical issues).
Hallmark Movies Now
This is their standalone app that requires a separate subscription. For about $5 bucks a month, you get access to most of their original movies and series. There is some exclusive content here (not found elsewhere) but most of the programming is pulled from their traditional channel(s). If you only want Hallmark and are completely happy with your current TV provider, subscribing to just this app might be a good fit.
