Arguably the most influential channel in the country, CBS has quite the rich history in TV programming, from daytime game shows and soaps to family specials and award shows. First off, CBS still boasts the longest-running daytime show in history, The Price is Right (first seen in 1972, and now hosted by Drew Carey). It also kept many stay-at-home folks entertained with their edgy soaps, All My Children, One Life to Live, etc. More recently, they've become a major player in the news magazine (60 Minutes, 48 Hours) and live sports (NFL, PGA, NCAA march madness, etc) genres.
Aside from traditional TV, CBS is also quite diversified with CBS Radio, CBS Films, home video and a variety of other media outlets. And joining the cord-cutting trend in 2014, CBS launched their own version of over-the-top TV, coined CBS All Access (thus far, it's been a solid success). All told, with its household reach and slew of big time media partners, CBS will continue to be a major source of news, drama, sports and all-around fun/family entertainment for decades to come.
