A branch of their popular U.K. network, BBC America had a slow start in the states, due to inconsistent programming themes and hazy direction. Over the last 5 years, however, they've inked syndication deals with a variety of popular shows (all 100% U.S.-based). In addition, they've done pretty well with crossover programs, specifically any number of shows featuring the hot-headed Gordon Ramsay. From Kitchen Nighmares to a plethora of other contest-driven series, they've hit on quite a solid niche. As long as you can put up with (or decipher the) occassional heavy British accent, BBC America is a welcomed addition to most DVR lineups.
